style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan<\/strong>, is a distinguished academic and research unit dedicated to advancing knowledge in veterinary pathology, microbiology, immunology, parasitology, epidemiology, and infectious diseases. The department is committed to excellence in veterinary education, research, and professional training, with a particular focus on understanding, preventing, diagnosing, and controlling diseases affecting animals and those of public health importance.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the core of the department&#8217;s academic activities are undergraduate and postgraduate programs in veterinary and related biological sciences. The department provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the causes, mechanisms, diagnosis, prevention, and control of infectious, non-infectious, parasitic, and immunological diseases. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, laboratory-based training, clinical exposure, and research activities, students develop the scientific knowledge and practical skills required for professional careers in veterinary medicine, diagnostic laboratories, academia, research organizations, public health, and the livestock sector.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The department serves as a center of research and innovation, fostering multidisciplinary research addressing important challenges in animal health and production. Faculty members and researchers conduct studies in areas including veterinary pathology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology, immunology, molecular diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, epidemiology, zoonotic diseases, and emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. These research activities contribute to improved disease surveillance, early diagnosis, effective disease control, animal welfare, livestock productivity, and protection of public health.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>One Health approach<\/strong> is an important component of the department&#8217;s academic and research vision. Recognizing the close interconnection between animal health, human health, and the environment, the department promotes collaborative research and education on zoonotic and emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety, and other health challenges at the animal\u2013human\u2013environment interface. Such efforts support evidence-based disease prevention and strengthen preparedness for emerging health threats.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The department also encourages collaboration with veterinary hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, livestock and poultry industries, government departments, research organizations, public health institutions, and national and international partners.
