Introduction

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Environmental Sciences at Gomal University is an advanced two‑year postgraduate degree.
The program combines coursework and thesis research, typically spanning four semesters. Coursework covers advanced topics including Environmental Governance, Analytical Techniques, Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change, Conservation Ecology, Industrial Ecology, Environmental Sociology, Risk Assessment, Watershed Management, Environmental Toxicology, and Environmental Biotechnology, among others . Students also take research seminars and a substantial thesis during their final semesters.

The department emphasizes research methodology, practical field-based study, and application of advanced analytical and environmental management tools. The MPhil prepares graduates for careers in research, policy, consultancy, environmental planning, and academia.
