Introduction

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Horticulture at Gomal University provides a solid foundation in the scientific principles of plant cultivation, landscape design, and sustainable agriculture. This program offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, covering areas like plant breeding, soil science, pest management, and horticultural technology. Students gain practical skills through laboratory work, greenhouse activities, and field visits. Graduates are equipped for careers in agriculture, landscape management, research, and environmental conservation. The B.Sc. in Horticulture aims to develop skilled horticulturists who can contribute to sustainable agriculture, food security, and environmental improvement in Pakistan and beyond.

The department was started in 1982 and started the classes for B.Sc. (Hons). In Agricultural Bachelor program, the students are being taught the basic courses of Agriculture during the first two years (four semester) after which they have to choose a specialty to get a degree of Bachelors in that particular specialty (Fifth to Eighth Semester).
