Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology

Introduction

A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dental Technology is an undergraduate degree program designed to educate and train individuals in the field of dental laboratory technology. Dental technologists play a vital role in the dental healthcare system by creating various dental prosthetics, restorations, and appliances that are used to improve patients’ oral health and aesthetics. The BS in Dental Technology program focuses on providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in dental laboratories and collaborate closely with dentists to produce high-quality dental devices.

Throughout the program, students learn about dental materials, dental anatomy, oral pathology, dental laboratory techniques, digital dentistry, and various aspects of restorative and prosthetic dentistry. They gain hands-on experience in designing, crafting, and fabricating dental prosthetics such as crowns, bridges, dentures, orthodontic appliances, and more. Additionally, they also learn about the latest advancements in digital technologies used in dentistry, which are becoming increasingly important in modern dental practice.

The curriculum of a BS in Dental Technology program typically combines theoretical classroom instruction with practical laboratory training. Students have the opportunity to work with various types of dental materials, equipment, and tools commonly used in dental laboratories.
