Biotechnology is one of the most promising and fast-growing fields in world. Today’s biotechnology has revolutionaries Medical, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Agricultural, and Environmental sectors around the globe and Commercial Biotech products are available these days.
While keeping the importance of biotechnology and future needs of Pakistan in this sector, The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) approved the establishment of Gomal Center of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (GCBB) in Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan in 2006 and University launched its first batch admissions in Bs(4 years) in Biotechnology Programme in September 2006. The First batch of GCBB has successfully completed education, and our students serve in various biotechnology sectors.
Since its creation in 2006, the center aimed to provide a standard and diverse research and training environment to the students in various areas of Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology. The Center is currently admitting students for Bs (4 years) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and M.Phil. , Ph.D. in Biotechnology programs. The center has recently launched Diploma and certificate program in Medical Genetics, Molecular Diagnostics, and Clinical Biochemistry.

Mission:

The mission of the Centre is to promote the field of applied life sciences in KPK, Pakistan, and to train the students with the latest techniques. The center is committed to providing wonderful training opportunities to intra- and inter-departmental students of the University, in order to produce nationwide professional graduates. The faculty has various linkages with national and international research centers and Universities. The faculty aims to welcome researchers, healthcare providers, and students to become part of quality providers and contribute to the development of teaching and research in the field of life sciences.

Objective:

The Centre is established with a visionary belief of providing quality education and research facilities to the students and researchers around Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan. The faculty members strive sincerely to make it Pakistan’s best teaching and research institute. The qualified and dedicated staff is struggling to maintain the excellence of this Centre through a high-quality course curriculum, the best quality of research for graduate and post-graduate students, and the professional caliber of its graduates.
