Master of Science in Horticulture
Introduction
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Horticulture at Gomal University is an advanced program focusing on specialized training in plant science, crop production, and sustainable horticultural practices. It delves into areas like plant physiology, genetics, plant pathology, landscape horticulture, and modern agricultural technologies. Students participate in research projects, field studies, and laboratory work, developing expertise to address agricultural challenges and promote sustainable practices. Graduates are prepared for careers in agricultural research, environmental consulting, landscape management, and academia. This program equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to innovate in horticulture and contribute to food security and environmental sustainability.
The department started the classes of M.Sc. (Hons) – Horticulture in 1988. The students are being taught the advanced courses of Horticulture during the first two semesters, after which they have to conduct a Research work under the supervision of a supervisor, have to write a research thesis and then have to defend it in Public (Public defense) to get the Degree of M.Sc. b9hons) Horticulture.
