Faculty Overview
Pakistan is an agrarian economy, where plains are vast, fertile and windy but skilled resources to husband them are scant and rare. It is a need of the day to strengthen agriculture and thereby boost up country’s economy. Government is spending a lot of foreign exchange every year to import various food items. Thus self-sufficiency in food can help us in relieving from the economic doldrums. We are after this purpose. Therefore, strenuous efforts are bring made to achieve self-sufficiency in food as well as in other agriculture products. To certify this notion, various steps have been taken. The most vital of these has been to improve know-how of agriculture and take the knowledge to the door steps of the common man. With this end in view, The Faculty was established in December, 1979.
Dean's Message
The Faculty of Agriculture would be a future-oriented and unique institution of its kind committed to achieving academic excellence at the levels of B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc (Hons) and Ph.D education and research. The Faculty would contribute to the advancement of farming community and other related stakeholders through global research, creative activity, scholarly inquiry, and development of knowledge. The Faculty will preserve and promote the nation’s economy, serves the farming community through out-reach and extension programs and would be dedicated to the production of quality human resource for the knowledge-driven development and sustained green revolution of the country.
